❗️Avoid strong vibration
SiC elements are hard and brittle; handle with care during transport and installation
Hot zone length matching
Hot zone length should equal furnace chamber width to prevent extension into furnace walls
Cold and extension
Typically extend 50-150mm beyond furnace wall for cooling and terminal connection
Installation clearance
Furnace hole diameter should be 1.4-1.6 times the cold end diameter to allow thermal expansion
Spacing requirements
Distance to furnace wall ≥3× hot zone diameter; center-to-center spacing ≥4× hot zone diameter
1⃣️Resistance matching
Match resistance values before use, connecting elements with similar resistance together
2⃣️ Power supply equipment
Equip with voltage regulation; initial voltage should be half of normal operating voltage, gradually increased
3⃣️Moisture protection
Prevent moisture exposure; otherwise, aluminum layer at cold ends may decompose, increasing contact resistance
4⃣️ Atmosphere control
Avoid use in corrosive atmospheres such as hydrogen or chlorine; nitrogen reacts with SiC above 1350℃
5⃣️Regular inspection
Monitor ammeter and voltmeter readings; check terminals for looseness, oxidation, or arcing
The service life of SiC heating elements is determined when resistance increases to 4 times the initial value. Beyond this point, the element cannot function properly.
