H-Type (U-shaped) silicon carbide heating elements are specially shaped SiC heating components manufactured from high-purity green silicon carbide through recrystallization sintering at over 2200℃. Characterized by parallel terminals resembling an "H" or "U" shape, the hot zone is located at the bottom while the cold ends extend upward in parallel, allowing concentrated wiring from the furnace top or bottom.
This structural design makes them particularly suitable for deep furnace chambers, applications where sidewall installation is impractical, or scenarios requiring top/bottom wiring. They offer irreplaceable advantages in industrial heat treatment, semiconductor diffusion, glass melting, and laboratory furnaces.

Structural Feature of H-Type SiC Heating Elements
1. Parallel Terminal Design
Parallel upward terminals allow concentrated wiring from the furnace top, eliminating sidewall openings and simplifying furnace construction.
2. Concentrated Hot Zone
Heat is concentrated at the bottom, enabling precise heating of specific zones and improving thermal efficiency.
3. Uniform Diameter
Consistent diameter from cold ends to hot zone allows uniform openings for easy installation and replacement.
4. Adjustable Center Distance
The distance between legs can be customized based on furnace dimensions, flexibly matching various furnace types.
Key Advantages
☆ Space-saving: Vertical installation frees up sidewall space for higher furnace chamber utilization
☆ Clean wiring: All terminals concentrated at the furnace top for easy maintenance and enhanced safety
☆ Excellent temperature uniformity: Hot zone at the bottom promotes natural convection for uniform temperature distribution
☆ High thermal shock resistance: Special sintering process withstands rapid temperature changes, ideal for intermittent production
☆ Long service life: Low aging rate under proper conditions, with service life exceeding 2000 hours
☆ Flexible installation: Can be vertically suspended or bottom-supported to suit different furnace designs
Applications
Industry | Typical Equipment |
Metallurgy | Heat treatment furnaces,sintering furnaces,forging furnaces |
Ceramics | Tunnel kilns,roller kilns,electric kilns |
Glass | Glass melting furnaces,annealing furnaces |
Electronics | Diffusion furnaces,sintering furnaces |
Chemical | Reactors,drying equipment |
Laboratory | Muffle furnaces,high-temperature testing furnaces |
Installation Methods
H-Type SiC heating elements can be installed in two primary ways:
1. Top Suspension
Elements are suspended from the top using clamps, with the hot zone hanging freely –
suitable for most industrial furnaces.
2. Bottom Support
Elements are supported at the bottom by refractory materials, with the top free to expand – suitable for height-restricted furnaces.

Operation Guidelines
· Furnace top openings should be 1.4-1.6 times the element diameter to allow thermal expansion
· Both legs must remain vertically parallel to avoid torsional stress
· Clamps must make full contact with aluminum-sprayed cold ends and be tightened properly to prevent arcing
· When multiple elements are connected in parallel, resistance matching within 10% deviation is recommended
