SC silicon carbide heating elements are specially structured SiC heating components with precision-machined spiral grooves on the surface of a uniform-diameter rod. This unique design significantly increases the heating surface area under the same diameter and length, resulting in higher surface power density and superior thermal radiation efficiency.
Manufactured from high-purity green silicon carbide through recrystallization sintering at over 2200℃, the spiral section is integrally formed with the rod body, ensuring high structural strength and no risk of delamination. Widely used in precision heat treatment, semiconductor manufacturing, glass melting, and various laboratory high-temperature equipment.

Structural Feature of SC Type SiC Heating Elements
1.Spiral Groove Surface
Precision-machined spiral groove structure significantly increases heating area and improves thermal radiation efficiency.
2. Integral Formation
Threaded section integrally sintered with the rod body, no risk of coating peeling, ensuring structural reliability.
3. Uniform Diameter
Consistent diameter between cold ends and threaded section allows uniform openings for easy replacement.
4. Customizable Thread Parameters
Thread pitch, depth, and threaded zone length can be flexibly customized based on process requirements.
Key Advantages
☆ High surface power density: SC structure increases heating area, achieving 1.5-2 times the surface load of standard products
☆ Rapid heating: Higher power output per unit length for fast thermal response
☆ Excellent thermal efficiency: Enhanced thermal radiation characteristics for higher energy utilization
☆ Controllable temperature profile: Flexible SC distribution enables localized heating or specialized temperature curves
☆ Reliable structure: Integral forming eliminates coating peeling risk for long service life
☆ Easy installation: Uniform diameter design allows same installation method as standard SiC rods with no additional modifications
Applications
Industry | Typical Applications |
Precision Heat Treatment | Localized quenching, selective hardening |

SC Design Selection Guide
SC Parameter | Recommended Application |
Large Pitch | Large area requiring uniform heating |
Small Pitch | Localized high power density requirements |
Deep SC | Enhanced thermal radiation output |
Shallow SC | Balance between power and structural strength |
Segmented SC | Multi-zone gradient heating |
Installation Guidelines
· Furnace hole diameter should be 1.4-1.6 times the element diameter to allow thermal expansion
· Avoid impact on spiral area during installation to prevent local damage
· Clamps should grip the smooth cold end surface, never on the spiral section
· When multiple elements are connected in parallel, resistance matching within 10% deviation is recommended
Operating Precautions
· Due to higher surface load on spiral section, gradual temperature ramping is recommended for initial use
· Regularly inspect spiral area for abnormal discoloration or localized overheating
· Avoid prolonged use in reducing atmospheres to prevent SiC decomposition
